Professional Peace Officers' Charitable Foundation
In August of 1999, the PPOA Board established the Professional Peace Officers' Charitable Foundation (PPOCF). The Foundation provides financial assistance to people who need it the most (i.e. families of slain peace officers...) Members of the Foundation Board are committed to contributing their time, energy, and resources to make our community a better place in which to live and work.

In order to make the Foundation a visible and integral part of our community, the Foundation has worked with a number of local fundraising organizations. Financial support also comes from the sale of various logo items on display in the PPOA office and online at www.poastore.com  These goods include polo shirts, jackets, hats, mugs, and more.

The Charitable Foundation's most significant fundraiser to date was the 1st Annual Peace Officer Memorial Golf Tournament held in June 2007. The event took place at the Tournament Player's Club in Valencia and raised nearly $50,000 for families of fallen officers.

A new fundraising opportunity linked to the golf tournament this year is centered on a custom-painted Harley Davidson. PPOA secured the Harley Davidson Softail Deluxe in order to raise funds for families of peace officers killed in the line of duty. The impressive bike is dedicated to our fallen brethren and was hand-painted by renowned artist, Noah. His subtle personal touches include the phrase "in their honor" emblazoned on each side of the fuel tank, superimposed over an eagle; the names of the California officers killed in the line of duty in 2007 listed in subdued fashion on the rear fender; engraved PPOA logo on the chrome derby cover and engraved Sheriff's Department memorial bereavement badge on the chrome gas cap.

This absolutely stunning bike (valued at $20,000) will be raffled off at the memorial golf tournament on June 2, 2008. Until that date, PPOA will tow it to law enforcement events throughout Southern California (and beyond in some cases) to raise awareness for the cause and sell raffle tickets. Tickets are $20 each or six for $100.

All funds raised will be specifically used to assist the families of fallen officers.

If you're interested in purchasing raffle tickets, click here or call the PPOA office at (800) 747-PPOA. If you're interested in arranging for the bike to be set up at a law enforcement event, please call Sgt. Brian Moriguchi at (661) 645-4551.
